Charlotte Stine, College Coed
Named Keystone Dairy Queen
iPennsylvania’s Dairy Queen is a coed at the College. Pretty, 17-

was selected at a statewide contest in Erie as part of a milk promo
tion campaign during National Dairy Month, last June.
Charlotte, who lives at the Nittany Co-op, has had an exciting
life since her election as our state’s Dairy Queen. Last July she pre
sented the President of the United
States with a cake roll, represent
ing the dairy interests of Penn
sylvania
While in Washington last July,
Miss Stine, sponsored by the
United States Department of Ag
riculture, met Secretary of Agri
culture Clinton Anderson. On
Dairy Day in Hershey she met
Governor Duff, and in Pittsburgh,
that city’s Mayor.
“I almost spilled a glass of milk
on the Mayor of Pittsburgh,”
Charlotte said. “I was handing
him a glass of milk for a picture,
and I was so nervous I almost
dropped it. He said, ‘My gosh,
watch what you’re doing with
that milk!’ ’’
Miss Stine has received the

Reading and Bloomsburg. On her

consists mainly in attending ban

Coeds Doff Customs
For 44 Hours
Of Freedom
Sophomore coeds may tem
porarily put away their ribbons
and cards for the weekend at
noon today.
For approximately 44 hours
the traditional blue and white
ribbons and name tags worn by
all sophomore women may be ab
sent from the coeds’ attire.
This temporary easement of
customs will not, however, be in
effect on Monday morning at 8
o’clock with the starting of
classes. .These regulations which
will last through two more weeks
of classes are the methods used
by the College to help new peo

quainted.
Much comment has been made
about the cooperation of the un
derclass women with these rules,
and it is hoped that each girl
will continue to wear the rib
bons and tags throughout the
entire period.
