PAGE FOUR Journalism Student Receives $5O Pan Hellenic Scholarship Lois Bloomquist, sixth semester journalism student, was awarded the $5O Pan-Hellenic Scholarship, according to Frances Keeney, scholarship chairman. The choice of the scholarship committee was announced at the final meeting of the Pan-Hel Council Tuesday night. Miss Bloomquist, who is wire editor of Collegian, is also a mem ber of Chimes, French Club and Great Books Club. The Council, upon recommendation of the scholarship committee, decided to buy a new cup to be awarded every semester to the sorority having the highest schol astic average for the preceding term. The name of the winning group will be engraved upon the cup. Th e first to have their name placed on the cup will be Alpha Chi - Omega who made the highest average in the 1947 Spring semes ter. The cup, however, will be given to Zeta Tau Alpha who had the highest average last semester. Alpha Epsilon ?hi, Phi Sigma Sigma, and Sigma Delta Tau re quested that they be permitted to cut down the number of their °pe t , houses to, two instead of the three planned by the othe r sor orities. Th e Council granted this permission and decided to reduce their allotment for expenses pro portionately.
