Juniors Win
Softball Title
The Junior women won two de
cisive victories, an 18-0 romp over
the Sophomores and a 15-3
trouncing over the Seniors, to
annex the inter-class softball
crown.
Runnersup were the Seniors
who entered the finals after they
had won by forfeit over the
Sophomores. Leading the hitting
attack for the Juniors were J.
McCormick, B. J. Simmons, J.
MI, P. Shettel, R. Mowles, K.
Bitner, S. Caveny, A. Geiger, B.
Vanderbeck and M. Kraemer.
Three winners in WRA intra
mural softball were also crowned
recently. Ath Han women an
nexed the League I title after
romping to five straight victories,
while Co-Op was crowned win
ner 14 League II after four
straight *ins. ZTA softballers,
after forfeiting one game, turned
in four wins to annex the title
in League 111.
Eighteen teams entered the
women's softball leagues with
276 players competing. Of the 47
scheduled games, 27 were for
feited. An estimated total of 650
hours was spent by the girls par
ticipating in the games.
Sigma Eta Alpha Holds
Charter Dinner Tonight
Sigma Eta Alpha, honor society
of the College's Hotel Adminis
tration' curriculum, will hold its
charter dinner in the State Col
lege Hotel at 7 o'clock tonight.
Guest speakers at the charter
presentation banquet will be Miss
Esther Atkinson, Mr. Richard
Bower, Mr. Daniel DeMarino and
Dean Arthur Warnock.
Requirements for the society
are a 1.5 all-college average and
two semesters in the Hotel Ad
ministration curriculum.
