Army Trounces
Thielmen, 10-1
Despite the fact
.that Captain
"Wild Bill" Hollenbach played
the best game of his collegiate
career in the Lion goal, the Nit
tany lacrosse ten bowed - to a po
tent Army aggregation, 10-1, at
West Point on Saturday.
Hollenbach played a brilliant
defensive game and, in Coach
Nick Thiel's estimation, it was
the best game he's ever played.
The Lions controlled the ball
fairly regular and had some ex
cellent shots at, the Army goal.
However, tending the nets for the
Cadets was John Rust, all-Amer
ican goalie last year, who made
several sensational stops.
Army held the Nittanies score
less until the third period. John
Finley, after a midfield dodge,
sent the ball ,on a pass to Bobby
Louis, who flipped it in the net
for the only Lion score of .he
game.

Lions Encounter
Bisons Tomorrow
Following two losses to eastern
foes, the Lion baseballers round
out their final road trir. of the
year by meeting Bucknell Univer
sity at Lewisburg tomorrow after
noon.
Righthander Cy Miller, who set
the Bisons down with two hits in
the last meeting between the two
clubs, will probably start tomor
row's contest.
Navy added another sour note
to the Lions' eastern invasion
when they defeated the Nittany
nine, 8-5, Saturday afternoon at
Annapolis.
Bob Gehrett was charged with
the loss, his second of the year,
while Lee Rensberger, veteran
Middie hurler, got, credit for the
win.
Although outhit 11 to 8, the
Midshipmen took advantage of
four Lion errors and played tight
defensive ball in the pinthes to
cop the win.
The sailors got away to an
early lead, scoring once in the in
itial frame. However the Lions
came back to knot the score
twice, and make the boards read
5-5 at the end of the sixth.
In the seventh the home team
had a golden opportunity to score,
but twice had runners nailed at
the plate. In the bottom half of
the same inning the Middies went
on to score one tally and pushed
two more runs across in the
eighth to secure the victory.
