Thielmen Tangle
With Syracuse
It will be student against coach
when the Penn State and Syra
cuse lacrosse teams tangle at Syr
acuse tomorrow afternoon. Lion
Coach Nick Thiel, a former all-
American stickman at Syracuse,
was coached by the present Or
ange stick mentor, Roy Simmons,
in his undergraduate days.
The Syracuse lacrossemen have
won five games this season while
dropping two. The two losses
were both suffered at the hands
of the powerful service acade
mies, Army and Navy.
The Orange bowed to Navy by
a 14-4 count, but the game was
the first of the season for the
Simmonsmen. The Blue and
White had its undefeated string
broken by Navy last Saturday
when it lost by a 9-3 decision.
VETERAN TEAM
Syracuse is ready to field a
veteran team tomorrow, a com
bination that won 10 of 16 games
last year. The Orange midfield
array is one of the games finest,
and features Bill Fuller, Bill
Archbold, George Cody and Loa
Jones.
The Simmonsmen will attempt
to break a two-year famine when
they cross sticks with the Nittany
Lio tomorrow.
