PAGE BIGHT Faculty News Dr. Henry Jansen. assistant professor of political science, has been awarded a Senior Fellow ship in Slavic Studies by the Hoover Institute of Stanford Uni versity, Calif. The one-year fel lowship is effective July I. A paper written by Dr. A. H. Waynick, professor of engineer ing research in the Ordnance Re search Laboratory, and J. E. Hacke, Jr., research assistant in the Engineering Experiment Sta tion, was presented by Dr. Way nick at the meeting of the Inter national Scientific Radio Union in Washington, D. C., yesterday. The paper is entitled "Restricted Range Sky-Wave Tranmission." Dr. Ellen Kelly, assistant pro fessor of physical education, has been conducting a posture class for school children from State College and Centre County. The class meets weekly, thus pro viding demonstration and stu dent teaching opportunities for women students majoring in physical education. Dr. Ellen Kelly,. assistant pro fessor of physical education, as chairman of the therapeutic sec tion of the American Association of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation, was in charge of two programs at the national convention of the Association held recently in Kansas City, Mo. Dr. Hubert W. Fringe, associ ate professor of entomology, is author of an article, `Test Con trol with Sound Waves," which appears in the April issue of Pests. Eleven students in hotel ad ministration, ac co rn p anied by Richard M. Bower, assistant pro fessor of hotel administration, made a field trip to Philadelphia over the weekend. Six faculty members from the department of home economics attended the Pennsylvania Home Economics Association meetings in Harrisburg Friday and Sat urday. They are Dr. H• 1e a R.
