Women Argue World State
In Ohio, Pittsburgh Debates
Women's Debate is sending a representative team to Ohio State
University to participate in a series of three debates to last from next
Monday to Thursday, Dorothy Lees, manager, announced.
Helen Dickerson and Jane Fouracre have been chosen to act as
the College’s team. These girls will argue on the negative side of the
question of Federal World Government, subject for the three debates.

In the final basketball games of
the battle between the classes,

team emerged undefeated by

captains before the start of the

bates, the girls will also partici
pate in a twenty minute radio
forum.
On the way home, Miss Dicker
son and Miss Fouracre will stop
at Mount Mercy College in Pitts
burgh on Saturday, February 21,
to enter the orthodox debate tour
nament sponsored by Mount Mer
cy. This will consist, of a series of
eight debates in which other
schools will also participate. Other
members of Women’s Debate and
members of the Men’s Debate will
be entered from the College.
Senior Mortar Board
Taps Hutchison, Rice
Mortar Board, senior women’s
honorary, tapped two women
Thursday morning at 7 o’clock in
the Dean of Women’s office. Im
mediately following this was a
breakfast held at 7:30 at McAllis
ter Hall. The two new women are
Roberta Hutchison and Mary K.
Rice.
Daily Skiing Lessons

Skiing lessons will be given
every day at 4 p.m. when the
weather conditions are favorable.
Miss Mildred Lucy will conduct
the classes every day and any
girl interested in learning should
report to White Hall.
It is not necessary to have at
tended any of the classes held
last semester and sponsoring
WRA will supply the necessary
equipment.
Hearter —Russ
The engagement of Shirley
Russ, a junior in arts and letters,
from Harrisburg, to William P.
Hearter, a sophomore in lower
division, also from Harrisburg,
was announced during Christmas
vacation. Miss Russ is a Zeta Tau
Alpha.
