Letters from the Editor's Mailbox There Is a College Co-op TO THE EDITOR: I, as many students, was very much disappointed to hear the decision of the trus tees on the co-op program and would like to add a little kindling wood to the fire to keep up the fight. The main objection of the trustee s seems to be that ". . . it is not in order for building space, light, heat, and maintenance services to be used for a project which will compete with private enter prise." It seems an interesting change of policy when there is already at least one "co-operative" working on campus, The Pennsylvania State Col lege Creamery. I do not wish to stir up trouble when objections to the creamery are now quiet but I would like to bring to the attention of the Trustees and all others interested in the 00-op that the College has done nothing to limit the sale of dairy products in town when the local dairy manufacturers complained that the College was giving unfair competition. The creamery does not have to pay for light, heat, building maintenance, nor for the time the College faculty put in s o can afford to give the farmers, whose milk they buy beside s the milk produced at the College, a larger "bonus" for their milk above the standard price. STATE COLLEGE, PENNSYLVANIA lion on this subject, they are quite willing to let people read the policy under which they work. I believe that similar conditions exist in the Home Ec dining room. The point I would like to bring t o the attenticn of those working for the co op is that there might not be anything as effective in persuading the Trustees to change their minds as their own arguments on similar subjects. —Polly Goodwin Suhey Congratulated livuTf,.: This is a copy of a letter sent by Jackie Tighe, 1- , resident of the Athletic Association, to Sieve J. Suhey.) Dear Steve: In behalf of the Athletic Association, I wish to take this opportunity to extend to you eur heartiest and sincerest congratulations to a really great All-American, one Steve Suhey. You have brought much honor, not only to yourself, but to Penn State, your family and to everyone who has ever been associated with Penn State athletics. Your viciousness on the gridiron, combined with your sincere, humble, and mild manner, all add up to make you a very popular and respected young man. You have proven yourself a gentleman both on and off the field, and I am sure you will continue to do so always. It certainly has been a treat to all Penn Staters to overhear you stating: "I'm no bet_ ter than any of the other members of the team. We owe our success to our coaches, they have worked harder than any of us this year " I wish to person ally extend to you, Steve. all the luck that a real All-American could ever receive. Movies for the Lion TO THE EDITOR: Poor Lion, still having trouble getting up enough cash for a new skin. "Sure is a shame," this is the year you know and should be the year for a new look for the old lion too. I have an idea. First, an .ssumption. I take it we will have a chance to see the Penn State-Southern Methodist movies when we get back from vacation. Why not casually collect two hits from each person attending , the movies? Surely there will be at least "^T*O intereted in seeing the pictures. (They ••ouldn't ALL have been F3ockrell rooters at Bea ver Field this season.)
