Cooney, whose specialty is a re
verse on the kickoff, is speedy
and rapidly improving in the ex
perience department.
1M Tennis Singles Begin
As Wertz Registers Win
Intramural tennis singles began
as eight matches were played in
the first round of the tourna
ment.
Dick Wertz, Phi Kappa Sigma,
registered the strongest victory
in defeating Charles Taylor,
Sigma Phi Alpha, 6-2 and 6-0.
Carl Sturge s, Kappa Delta
Rho, won over Edward McMil
lan, Alpha Gamma Rho, 6-4 and
6-0. Bob Ogden, Delta Chi, beat
Alan Hunt, Alpha Chi .Rho, 6-1
and 6-2.
Bill Mallory, Phi Gamma
Delta, triumphed over Paul Hall
man, Sigma Pi, 6-1 and 6-2, and
George Wadasz, Chi Phi, was
awarded his game through for
feiture. _
Bob Engle, Alpha Chi Sigma,
topped Frank Franco, Alpha Phi
Delta, 6-2 and 7-6; William
Brinker, Sigma Nu, defeated
Elmer Bauer, Sigma Pi, 6-2, 6-4.

Intramural touch football play
is now entering the second round
of play. In the fraternity bracket
one loss drops a team from the
tourney, while two defeats are
necessary to eliminate an entry
in the independent bracket.
