The Thundering Herd from Bucknell are the oldest rivals in the history of Penn State football, These two teams first met in 1881, and in their 343 meetings, the Lions have come off the field vic tors' 25 times. Bucknell scored its last win, a 14-0 conquest in 1938. Bucknell coach, Harry Law rence, has brought from their home stamping grounds a trav eling squad of 40 burly Bisons. Most of these are new faces whichgrace the gridiron picture at Lewisburg. With at least 16 key perform ers, most of them linemen, miss ing from last season's scpad, the all-new coaching staff will be re lying upon the steadying influ ence of 18 lettermen in seeking to wield a winning ball club.
