Softball

“After being repeatedly rained
out it is not believed that there is

tournaments,” announced Miss
Parks yesterday.
Although the softball tourna
ment will remain uncompleted,
Atherton is the unofficial softball
champion- since they are the win
ners in League I and have been
undiefeated' this season.

During the past year, WRA has
managed twenty-one tournaments,
handled nine special functions,
and sponsored nine different clubs.
■ Claire Parks, WRA Intramural
chairman, and Mis„ 'Mildred Lu
cey, faculty advisor of WRA, were
directly responsible for planning
and managing all of this year’s
activities. Under the intramural
program, five tournaments were
played.
As winne r of three out of five of
the completed tournaments, Ath
erton will have its name inscribed
on the'intramural cup held in
White Hall.
Eighteen teams played in the
badminton intramurals. Barton,
Dinius, Geiger, McCormick, and
Nelson played on the champion
ship Atherton team. Runners-up
were Phi Mu, second, and Delta
Zeta, third.
The volleyball intramurals saw
eighteen teams competing in the
thirty-seven games played. Ath
erton again took the champion
ship, winning six games out of six.
Team members wer e Brown, Car
son, Dinius, Failor, Gamby, Garo
fano, Geiger, Grossman, Hostetter,
Newell,..and Zekauskas. Kappa
Delta came in second and Coop
took third place in the tourney.
AChiO's Champions
Intramural table tennis champ
ions were the AChiO’s. Jenkins,
Kell, Moran, and Powell made up
the team. Sigma Delta Tau held
second place in the competition
and Kappa Kappa Gamma thrid.

the Gamma Phi’s in the finals.

ta's won eight games, out of eight
to take first place. Kappa Alpha

11 Debaters Join Honorary

debate honorary initiated 11
