FRIDAY, JANUARY 110, 1047 Cagers, hlittmen To Lions Down Temple for Upset,Vidory By ARTHUR MILLER A Lawther-coached basketball squad sprang the second upset victory in Rec Hall in as many years over a Temple team as the Nittany Lions forced the Owls into submission 62-46 Wednesday night before 5000 unbelieving spectators. ?Almost complete control of the backboards by the Lions in the first half and flawless operation of the ever-puzzling Penn State zone defense were the deciding factors in a game Marked by close officiating and a wealth of fouls. The Nittany Lion cagers lake on Muhlenberg on the Hoc Hall court at 8 o'clock tomorrow evening. Of the 47 personal fouls called, the Lions were on the receiving end of 34, makina 24 of them good to account for their win ning margin. But the advantage on the foul line only added to the y . superiorit . 7 of the Penn State squad over Joseph Cody's Temple outfit as the Lions stepped out in front 5-4 with seven minutes elapsed in the first halfa point from which they were never headed.
