Hoffman. registrar of The College. Included in this group. who - will transfer to the College next Ilan its sophomores, are 2497. male stu dents and 472 coeds. The largest group of students, 1025 are en olled in the lower division. En rolled in the engineering curricu lum sre 912 students, in agricul ture 421, in chemistry and physics 334, physical education 98, in education 93, and in mineral in dustries 86. The registrar's records show that 13 state teachers colleges, four undergraduate centers, four :;o-called cooperating colleges and 11/Count Alto are giving Penn State men and women their first year of college. The largest group of State un dergraduates is at the Altoona Undergraduate Center-433. The 243 students at Edinboro make it tops in enrollment among the :date teachers colleges. Wyand, professor of economics, was recently named Administrative Assistant to the President of the College by Presi dent Ralph Dorn Hetzel. Increased presidential responsi bilities in the postwar expansion of the College was the reason for the cre:•.tion of the new office by the Board of Trustees. Professor Wyand will be in charge of • gen eral administration, specifically in matters stemming from the growth of the College. The new appointee, a native of Waynesboro and an alumnus in the class of '29, has taught eco nomics on the campus for the past 15 years, He has been consulted by numerous industrial and gov ernmental agencies in his research field of pricing problems.
