The secretary of the Liberal Arts school could best be described as a gray, haired "young" lady with all the pep, personality, and vigor of the average coed. Between humorous anecdotes, Mrt. , Cronemeyer said that she had been working for the College since 1917 and she intends to stay for at least ten more years. When asked if she liked the work she. was doing, she answered, "Why ---- I like it or I wouldn't, be here this. long." Roethke 'Named 'to Staff Of Writers' Conference Theodore Roethke,. assistant professor of English composition at the College, has been named to the staff of the University of New Hampshire Writers' Confer ence, Carroll S. Out of this fund, the amount loaned -in 'any semester to any one student shall not exceed $lOO. Preference shall be given in the following order: (a) members of the Penn State chapter of 'Delta Upsilon Fraternity; (ib) gradu ates of Palmerton High School; (c) graduates of Slatington'High School; and (d) residents of Car bon County. Loans from the Prutzman fund shall be made upon recommenda tion of the Dean of Men, the Dean of Women, and the Chair men of the Committee on Aca demic Standards.' Another loan fund will be established by Caro Emerson Fields in- memory of her husband, John Fields, Class of 1891. The fund will be known as the John Fields Memorial Student Loan Fund and loans shall be made on the interest of $36,893.38. The amount loaned to any one stu dent shall not exceed $lOO a se mester. Loans will be granted to the needy and deserving students in the sophomore, junior, and senior classes who maintain a satisfac tory grade of scholarship. They will be free of interest while the bearer is in college.
