ordnance plant, naval station,
government-, plant, airfield, or

fit, is not needed at that time.
“Surplus property, however,”

Purple Quill will present an
original radio drama, “East
bound Bus”, on its weekly radio

“This is not a play in the strict

session about the atomic bomb
that takes place among the pas

will lecture on Russian music at
a meeting of the American-Rus
sian Organization 7:30 p. m.
Thursday in the Hugh Beaver
room. Records will be used for

after the speech under the super

Chemical Society Elects
Dr. Oakwood, Chairman
Dr. T. S-. Qakwood, assistant
professor of organic chemistry at
the College, has been elected
chairman of the Central Penn
sylvania Section of the American
Chemical Society.
Other new officers, all mem
bers of the College faculty where
the Section has its headquarters,
are: Dr. C. C- Wright, professor
and chief of the Division, of Fuel
Technology, vice-chairman; Dr.
R. V. Boucher, professor of agri
cultural and biological chemistry,
secretary, and Dr. A., H. Holt
zinger, associate professor of
chemistry, treasurer.
Three other members of the
faculty were elected to the Na
tional Council of the American
Chemical Society. They are:. Dr.
J. G. Aston, professor of organic
chemistry, Dr. R. C. Miller, pro
fessor of agricultural and biolo
gical chemistry, and Dr. S. T.
Yuster, professor of petroleum
and natural gas engineering.
