Senators Nominate
Frosh Candidates;
Plan Mass Meeting
Senate memtoers nominated
Joan Fox, Janet (Lyons, lAlethea
Pottiger, and Betty Lou 'Reed as
candidates for freshman senator of
WSGA 'Tuesday night.
WSGA and W.R'A will hold a
joint mass meeting for all first
semester coeds in 105 White Hall
at 6:30 p.m. Monday at which first
semester coeds imay nominate six
mere candidates from the floor for
freshman senator. Qualifications of
each nominee must be presented
to WSGA upon nomination.
Coeds nominated for this post
will have no Judicial record, pos
sess the qualities of leadership, and
an interest-in the College and its
activities, and show willingness to
take part in WiSGA activities,
WSGA President Florence Porter
announced : today. (Nomination
committee included Mary Jane
Doerner, chairman, Ann Berk
he'.ner, and Helen Reid.
WRA will nominate two fresh
man representatives.
Voting will 'be held in the first
floor lounge of Old Main, 9 am.
to 5 p.m. December 18 and 19 for
both freshman senator and WSGA
representatives. '
Judicial head Joan Sdhearer an
nounced at the WSGA meeting
that all first semester coeds must
; wear customs when attending bas
ketball games.- They will not toe
allowed to date for the games and
must -return to their dormitories
!by 9:15 p.m.‘
Christmas dinner in (McAllister
Hall and Atherton Hall will toe
held 'December 17. Committee ap
pointed for the dinner includes
Priscilla Wagner and (Mary Lou
jWaygood, eo - chairmen, Betty
Rank, Jane Healy, Janet Taylor,
and Anne Reese. Coffee, fruitcake,
and nuts will toe served in the
'lounges following the dinner.
Seriate approved a request that
freshrdan candidates in the College
election toe allowed to campaign in
freshman dormitories.
Janet Taylor, chairman of the
Christmas Drive, urged Senate
members to' push the campaign.
She stated that men students of
the College may also make use of
the student loan fund, one of the
toene'ficiaries of the drive. Boxes
for donations will toe placed in
Atherton Hall, the Corner Room
and Student Union. The drive is
scheduled to begin (Monday.
Women’s Debate Squad
. . . recently accepted nine new
members. They are: Mary Bitner,
Nancy Blough, Kay Courtney,
Nanicy Crane, Helen Dickerson,
Jeanne Esterman, Rhoda Finn,
Mary Alice Hodgson and Charlotte
Warner.
Alpha Kappa Pi
. ; girls and the Phi Kappas
held an exchange dinner and get
together Wednesday night.

WEDDING BELL&
Marjorie Provost and Frank W.
Nelson, ex-G. 1. and former mem
ber of NROTC at the College, will
be married in the University Bap
tist Church in State College at
3:30 p.m. tomorrow. Rev. Robert
H. Eads, pastor of the church, will
perform the ceremony.
The bride, given in marriage
by her father, Lloyd W.,Provost,
will be attired in a floor length
gown of white silk jersey with
fingertip sleeves and high round
neck. Her headdress will be a
crown of orange blossoms and'
fingertip veil, and she will carry
a bouquet of white carriations with
a center of African daisies.
Mrs. J. Frank Long, attired in a
pale green net gown of similar de
sign with a halo-type bonnet, will
toe her sister’s matron of honor.
She will carry 'a bouquet of yellow
carnations. , Maids-o£-honor will
be Elsie Noble and Ronnie Lee
Sherrill, both students at the Col
lege. Miss Noble will wear a floor
length gown of pink net and will
carry a 'bouquet of violet carna
tions. Miss Sherill will be attired
in a similar gown of pale blue net
and carry' a bouquet of pink car
nations.
Howard Hartman, member of
NROTC at the College, will toe the
bridegroom’s best man. Blaine
Grose and J.. Frank Long will act
as ushers for the wedding. NROTC
member Eiwood Sfetler will sing,
accompanied., by Robert C. .Torr,
also of NROTC, on the organ.
All men of the wedding party
will be in military uniform. Thq
church will be decorated with a
Christmas theme in mind.
Following the ceremony a re
ception will be held at the church.
New initiates of Kappa Delta
entertained active memtoers -at a
party in Atherton lounge Sunday
night. At the sorority’s banquet
Sunday afternoon the local chapter
was presented an achievement
award for the most progress in
two years (by memtoers of its na
tional convention ...
Mrs. P. W. Scherretoech, national
president of Beta Sigma Omicron,
was the weekend guest of Kala
zetia. 'The group recently initiated
Florence Baize, Carol Hutch, and
Betty Ann Sheesl’ey. Mrs. Eliza
beth Reynolds and Mrs. Ruth
Wirnmer, chapter advisors, and
Mrs. Fran ' Lander, Kalazetia
alumna, were entertained toy the

Panhel Approves Rushing Fee
Panhellenic Council at its meet
ing Tuesday night voted Its ap
proval of a one-dollar registration
fee for all girls wishing to toe rush
ed by sororities in March.
In announcing the Council’s de
cision, Panhel President Priscilla
Wagner stated that the fee will be
kept in the treasury for the single
purpose of covering the expense of
registration. The purpose of the
fee, according to Miss Wagner, is
to discourage girls who “go along
for a good time” and never have
sorority at a bridge party Monday
night ...
Theta Phi Alpha entertained ex
servicemen Friday . . . Members
