THE COLLEGIAN
Series lied
Two deadlocks will probably be
broken when Temple clashes with
Penn State tomorrow afternoon on
New Beaver Field.
Both teams are now tied in the
number of games won, each hav
ing won three of the six encoun
ters. Temple won the first two
games in 1931 and 1932 and came
back to win again in 1941 by a
14-0 count. The Lions have held
the edge in recent years, having
won three of four games since
1940.
Harry Muckle’s extra point de
cided last year’s game and Lions
won 7-6.
Another tie will probably be
broken when Temple’s Phil Slos
burg and State’s Joe Tepsic get
together. Tepsic scored twice
against Syracuse and Slosburg tal
lied once against Lafayette to
boost their season total to 42
points and put both in a tie for the
lead among the gridiron scorers of
the state.
