Male Glee Club
To Reorganize
Because an increase in male en
rollment for the fall semester is
expected, Prof. Frank Gullo is
planning to reorganize the Penn
State Glee Club. The Glee Club,
a male choir, was a war casualty
and has not been in operation for
three years.
In addition to the Glee Club,
two other vocal groups will be

students from 7 to 9 p. m.,

petitive try-outs. The College
choir, mixed singing group, which
performs each week at the Col
lege chapel service, and the Tre
ble Singers, reorganized last year
under the direction of Prof. Guy
Woods, will start. rehearsals in
the next few weeks.
The Blue Band organized in an
informal way at the beginning of
the football season and will con
tinue as it is now until the end of
the season. When the Blue Band is
no longer needed the concert unit
of the band will be chosen by
competitive examinations.
The symphony orchestra, nor
maly an organization of 70 pieces,
will also resume its activities un
der the direction of Professor
Fishburn.
Freshmen are eligible for all the
musical organizations which are
in orperation. These include the
ones mentioned above, plus the
ROTC band. In all cases member
ship is based on competitve try
outs, the time and place of which
will be announced in a later issue
of Collegeian and on the music de
partment bulletin board in Car
negie Hall.
Rohrheck To Serve With
College Editors Group
Edwin H. Rohrbeck, agricultur
al editor of the College, has been
elected a member of the execu
tive committee of the American
Association of Agricultural Col
lege Editors for 1945-6.
Rohrbeck previously served in
the same capacity in 1929-30. In
1932 he was elected vice-presi
dent of the association and in the
absence of the president, Charles
D. Byrne, of Oregon, he presided
at the annual meeting held at the
University of Illinois m loss
years later he was chairman of
the program committee for the
meeting held at Cornell Univer
sity.

Rules Given for Frosh Coeds
Once again freshmen come to
campus and add a little more
green to the environment with
their green bows and dinks. But
in addition to customs, freshmen
coeds are known for breaking
track records when it’s 8:14 and
they have to be in at 9:15.
' All freshmen will have a three
week no dating period, during
which the only communication
they will have with members of
the opposite sex will be one hello
per person. Anything more than
hello will be considered a date
and the offender will be subject

the dormitory at 9:15 every night
except Friday and Saturday when
they may have 9:3o’s.’ This rule
