Tribunal Raps
3 Freshmen
Lawbreakers
Three frosh customs violators
were sentenced to wear sandwich
signs and other "odds-n_ends" at
the fit:st meeting of Tribunal in
Old Main Wednesday. Guy Newton
presided.
A frosh from Philadelphia, Ho
bart D. Pollard Jr., because "he
forgot to wear his customs one
night," has to wear a three-foot
dunce cap besides his sandwich
sign. Another violator, who could
not remember to wear his customs
every day, will not be mistaken
about the campus starting today.
He will have his clothes on back
wards, with a large black bowtie
around his neck and a bright baby
bonnet on his head. Two small
flower pots will dangle from each
side, of his belt, and a piece of
toast will swing from each ear.
The third wrong-doer, Fred Shi
kadeh, begins wearing his sand
wich sign today, and also has to
wear a bushel basket on his head,
and carry a raw egg in a wooden
spoon. Besides that, he must re
port in front of Old Main with the
other two violators every day ex
cept Saturday and Sunday at one
p.m. to sing his college songs.
Tribunal, after due deliberation,
exempt six ex-servicemen and
three transfer students from ob
serving frosh customs. All ex
servicemen and transfers who
haven't been excused by Tribunal
from wearing customs are asked
to apply at the next meeting of
Tribunal in 104 Old Main, 7 p.m.
Wednesday.
President Guy Newton an
nounced than all hat men and up_
perclassmen are to assist in turn
ing in all frosh violators. Forms
will be found at Student Union.
