be out to avenge an early season
defeat when it meets a U. S. Mili
tary Academy squad at Recreation
Hall, 8 o'clock tomorrow. The
Cadets came out ahead in •the first
encounter, 5-3.

starting Alan Pottasch,. freshman;
in the 155-pound class. Pottasch,
formerly a welterweight, will re
place Jack Seitchek who has left
for the Arthy.. Navy trainee Ben

Phi Delts Win
IF Basketball
League Title
Phi Delta Theta clinched the In
terfraternity basketball league title
by defeating the Phi Kappa Sigs,
League B champions, 36-28, in the
final playoffs last week.
Playing for the Phi Delts were
Buzz Cloud, Tom Smith, Wally
Schaffer; Glenn Smith, Bob Os=
man, Jack Forbes, and Don ,Her
zog.
The committee in charge of the,
leagile, headed, by Bop Gridley,
has named the following fraternity
all-star squad for the season: for
wards, Buzz Cloud, ?hi Delt, and
Scalise, Theta Chi; center, Jueles
Corrubia, Phi Kappa Sig; guards,
Charlie Duke, Triangle, and Frank
Mussrey, Triangle.
Honorable mention was awarded
to the following: forwards, Jerry
Kruger, Beta Sig, and Stan Speak
er, Phi Kappa Sig; center, Rosen,
Beta Sig; guards, Glenn Smith, Phi
Delt, and Ivan Kline,, Delta Chi.

barracks 36 copped the V-12
basketball league championship
when they defeated Barracks 9,
30-26, Tuesday. Top scorer for the
season was A/S John Nolan, Bar
racks 36, who tallied 90 points.
Other final games resulted in
Barracks 13 defeating Barracks 26,
43-20, and Barracks 37 won a close
victory over Barracks 20, 32-30. In
the Wednesday night contest Bar
racks 24 topped Barracks 26.
The cage trophy is the second
athletic award won by Barracks 36
this semester. Earlier in the sea
son, tey • took the V-12 soccer
title.

Inier-barracks League
Army trainees at the College
have organized an inter-barracks
basketball league composed of six
teams from Company A and four
squads from Company B.
First games of the series were
played in the Armory Saturday
afternoon. Officials were members
of non-participating barracks.
Company A scores were:
Barracks 5 downed Barracks 28,
43-21; Barracks 8 tcok over Bar
racks 4, 42-29; and Barracks 27
won over Barracks 30, 27-16.
Company B scores were:
. Barracks 49 lost to Barracks 12,
32-22, arid Barracks 17 trounced
Barracks. 40, 38-16.

Coach John Lawther's basketball team will face the Carnegie Tech
five in the only game of . the week on Recreation Hall floor . Wednesday
night: Penn State defeated. Tech, 52-27, in an away contest earlier
this season.

Losing to a strong Army squad,
16-12, Penn State wrestlers will
travel to Annapolis tomorrow to
face a veteran Navy team, unde
feated since 1942.
Coach Paul Campbell will pit
Capt. Glenn Smith against the
Midshipman star; Capt. John Hale,
in the 155-pound division. Hale
won the Eastern title last season in
this division.
George Schautz, 121, will meet
Mickey MacDonald who annexed
the 1944 Eastern and National
championships and was voted The
outstanding college wrestler in the
country in 1944.
Other grapplers starting for the
Lions will be Bob Crease, 128;
Steve Greene, 136; Hal Frey, 145;
Wisherd, 165; Chuck Ha 11,175; and
Don Miltenberger, heavyweight..
Schautz, Crease, Greene, and
Smith won bouts against Army
Saturday night to score 12 points
against the Cadets, the most tal
lied against them this season.
Army's Lyle Edwards pinned Hall
in 7:14 and Joe Stanowicz pinned
Miltenbelger in three minutes to
clinch the meet. •
