Peters, director of educational research at the College, today. Any student should be awarded a degree as soon as he has suc cessfully passed a series of com prehensive examinations, recom mends the professor of education, whether the student has been at tending college for two months or two years. “College,” he said, “must de vise a practical way to treat ser vicemen. Educators must realize that the boys who come back will have knocked about all over the world, will possess a new ma turity, and will know what they' want.” Under this plan, Dr. Peters ex plained, students would be giv en an opportunity to utilize gen eral and specific education which they have received while in ser vice.' The old system, involving cre dit and' time-in-residence requir ements, should be retained, he said, for the students who prefer it. However, he predicted many veterans will balk at the old mechanical, routine and insist up on education as fast as they can.
