Booters Seek Win
After Navy Defeat

defeat by-a strong Navy team,

frey’s Lion soccer squad is prac
ticing long hours and revamping
its lineup in order to prove a vic
ious host to the Muhlenberg team
it will entertain behind the east
stands of New Beaver 'Field at
1:30 o’clock tomorrow afternoon.
Starting for the Jeffreymen at
goalie will be either Gene Graib
ner playing his last game for
Penn State, or Joe Crouch, erst
while halfback who is expected
to take over the post when Graib
ner leaves. Freshman Dave Binns
has clinched the spot at right full
back while Clair Jewell and
Charley Appleman are fighting
for the nod at left full.
At right halfback Coach Jef
frey will field Stet Stetler or
Capt. Jimmy Athertpn. A new
comer competing for “this position
is Jack Campbell, a first semester
freshman who will matriculate at
the College today and may play
911 the varsity tomorrow. Jess
Hartman and Bob Parker will
hold down their usual positions of
center and left halfbacks.

have lost all three of their starts,

be offered by qualified instructors
to Women students this semester.
Lion Officiating Staff
There’ll be an all-Penn State
officiating staff for at least ten
games this fall in the National

War Veterans To Swell Hunting Ranks
American youth, returning
from the hunting grounds of Eu
ropean battlefields and Pacific
island outposts, will constitute the
largest army of game hunters in
the nation’s history, it was pre
dicted today by Dr. P. F. Eng
lish of the College faculty.
Dr. English, who is associate
professor of wildlife management,
pointed out that many men who
never even held a gun before en
tering military service have be
come crack marksmen.
