Cutler took the, first prize of ten dollars with "They Can't 'Be" in the Theta Sigma Phi-Portfolio short story contest in competition with 26 contest ants who. entered. . Edgar Wynn pivot their War Bond spotlight on the Penn State campus to start the Fifth War Loan Drive. As part of a company of the nation's leading writers, these famous literary figures will boost bond sales in Schwab Auditorhim at 2 o'clock, Wed. nesday afternoon, June 21. The writers will personally; autograph one of their latest books as door prize following the War Bond Rally. With Ogden Nash, America's top author of humorous verse, act ing as Master of Ceremonies for the visiting cast of authors, the first big-scale bond rally on the campus promises to be packed with thrills. Hermann, professor of American history, was retained as adviser to the organization. Fred Dietz, president of IFC, appointed William Wintersteen, Thomas Davenport, and John Gil bert to the judicial committee. Robert Reisdorf, Stanley Speaker, and James Hugo were named for the scholarship committee.
