Requirements for membership
into City Panhellenic League are

'member must be an alumna of a
notionally-recognized fraternity.
Last year, 135 .alumnae were elig
ible for membership.

each sorority have been invited
to the meeting, which will be fol
lowed by a coffee hour. This coffee
hour will take the place of the
annual City Panhellenic Council
banquet.
Mrs. H. W. Loman. recently elec
ted Panhellenic Council advisor,
is in charge of the coffee hour,
while Miss Pauline A. Locklin,
assistant professor of English lit
erature, will be in charge of en-

al Defense is now on display on
main floor of central library, ac

This exhibit, first of a series, dis
plays two lunches showing a con
irast i'oetween good and poor selec
tions. Future displays will• show
the difference in 'breads, cereals,
breakfasts, and dietary patterns.

Fleming's office signs up a •dance
band, but we still believe at least
NYA rates would be justified.
It would make it a little fairer
too, incidentally, to criticize a com
mittee that was receiving some re
turn besides a chance to serve the
school for the 40 or 50 hours they

Drivas To Install
New WRA Officers
Winners of the two $5O WRA
scholarships are Martha J. Haver
stick '43 and Annette M. Keefer
'45, according to Ann Drivas '43,
retiring WRA head. Presentation
of the awards will be made at in
stallation of new WRA officers in
WRA room, White Hall, at 10:30
today.
Proceeds from WRA dances are
used for' the. scholarships which
are awarded to coeds outstanding
in WRA on the basis of need and
merit.
Miss Haverstick is WRA Bowl
ing Club president, 1942 All-Col
lege tennis champion, and played
with the victorious Navy all-star
hockey team. Miss Keefer, former
WRA Bowling Club president, was
also • named to the Navy team.
At installation of officers today,
Adele J. Levin '44 will become new
WRA president and Joan K. Miller
'45 will take over the vice-presi
dency. Other WRA officers who

An All-College Co-Rec hike to
Mt. Nittany has been scheduled for
Thanksgiving afternoon. Hikers
will meet on Old Main steps at

Introductory rifle training has
been completed, and actual shoot
ing practice has been scheduled
for WRA Rifle Club members,
Helen D. McKee '43, Club presi
dent, announced.
Eighty coeds, mostly freshmen
and transfers, are learning' the
techniques of shooting •in prepara
tion for next semester's telegraphic
meets or possible enlistment in
WAACS or WAVES.
Beginning next February, ap
proximately 15 matches will be
conducted with rifle teams in other
:colleges.
Instructing the coeds in shooting
techniques are Miss Marie Haidt,,
associate - professor of physical edu
cation, Miss McKee, Odette M.
Scrivanich '43, and Marjorie L Zint
'43.
Shooting practice is conducted
on White Hall rifle range at 4 p. m.
Mondays through Fridays, from 7
to 9 p. m. Mondays through Thurs
days, and from 10 a. m: to noon
Saturdays.
White Hall will sponsor its sev
enth weekly Playnight from 7 to
10 o'clock tonight.

PSCA Elects Ten
To Cabinet Posts
Two days of voting by members
of the Penn State Christian Asso r
, ciation resulted in the selection of
ten men and women to represent
their fellow students on the CA's
Cabinet.
From the ten students elected to
the Cabinet a president will be
selected on Sunday afternoon when
'Cabinet meets for the first time.
Eleven additional PSCA mem,-
hers will be elected to the Cabinet
so that it will have full representa
tion.
The vice-president, Secretary,
and treasurer will be chosen from
the group of 21.

1500 Couples Dance
Al Jr.-Sr. Ball-Prom
More than 1500 couples trekked
to Rec Hall last night for the last
big formal of the semester to dance
to Charlie Spivak's music. There
was no official theme for the Ball;
but the Hall - was decorated with
flags, American and class banners.
Weekend weather departed from
usual Penn State tradition for one
of the balmiest nights since' last
summer. No rain, no snow, no Cold
winds, just stars and a moon.
