have been outlawed. A hideout

schools especially seem to like this
type of play.

If You've A Job To Do,
Why Not Do It Right?
Commendation and criticism
seem to go hand in hand. . .
especially in the • problem pre
sented by WSGA House of Rep
resentatives.
Part of women's student gov
ernment since its initial appear
ance in 1919, House of Represen
tatives is composed of 24 mem
bers and serves as a subordinate
legislative body of WSGA with
power to suggest and ability to
act with Senate's approval.
Aside from this technical pur
pose, the House has really proved
itself a valuable asset in serving
as the only cohesive body repre
sentative of every group of up
perclass women students enrolled
in the College.
Supplementing this purpose,
are the many worthy projects
worked out and completed by
House members. But in .spite of
. this, there is a decided let-down
when we realize that only a small
part of the House is actually , do- .
ing the work . . and doing it
right.
• Because of the hono'r attached
to the position, the opportunities
to work for the welfare of the
group represented and for the
College, it is •of vital importance
that every House member attends
every House meeting. But a rep
resentative's work doe ' not, stop
here.
It is equally important to carry
back and forth from House to unit
represented—actions, suggestions,
and ideas .discussed by each
group.
. This
.. is Where House
members hare fallen• down. - It
would be too bad to see an or
ganization of this type fined for
unexcused absence from meet
ings.' We- suggest that House
executives personally notify
members either by phone or•post
cards so that there will be no
misunderstanding as to time,
place, and date of meetings.--S. H.
