' PAGE FOUR Dean Requests Definite Fall Room Plans Women students who have cam pus rooms reserved through the dean of women's office to state whether they plan to return for the Fall semester in order that c.ipacity rooming facilities may be used, Charlotte E. Ray, dean of women, announced yesterday. 'Post cards will go out to stu dents not enrolled for the Suns )ner semester and hostesses will reach women within their juris diction. Kith the largest number of freshmen entering this Fall, Miss llay stated that it was likely that fill° new class would be housed in McAllister Hall and Women's !Building as usual with a large number filling town dormitories unless other campus space be comes available. Twelve such homes are already scheduled to .have new frosh and transfer wo men, she added. Included in this group are four town co-operatives. If adequate space is. available, transfers will be admitted as usual until the end of the Summer se mester, Miss Ray pointed out. This provision is made since many (transfer's credentials are not com plete until the end of Summer work elsewhere. According to Miss. Ray, it is likely that freshmen now residing in McAllister Hall and Women's );wilding will be moved to upper class dormitories in September in order that the entering class mem bers may be together. Because of the continued flow of requests for admission, further room arrangements and place ments will be made rs soon as definite plans are laid out by the administrative committee. Miss ;Ray stated'. WRA To Hold Night Of Square Dancing Because of numerous requests for a sauare dancing program and liecause of its popularity at the List Co-Rec Night, WRA will sponsor an All-College square dance and Weiner roast Friday, A.ugust 21. Out of the maze of rumors which always accompany any pro posals regarding rooming facili ties, we struggle to present a few facts and suggestions. Rather than haunt the dean of women's office asking questions whose answers have not been de termined or gripe about the ce ment floors in the men's dorms, we suggest that coeds stand by silently until the administrative committee reaches a decision. Coeds need not fear that they will be ruthlessly shifted from dorm /to dOrm. Within the next few days, members of Miss Ray's staff will contact all women stu dents (by postcards, if they are not in College this semester) to tie termine their plans and prefer ences. The usual attempts will be made to permit coeds to choose. their own rooms. Obviously, it will be impossible for all coeds to live on campus. Even if the men's dorm is con verted from a Petty art gallery into a domicile with • interesting window displays, it will be neces sary for some coeds, to live in off campus dorms. As usual, it will be the incoming freshmen and 'transfers who will live in town. Conversion of the men's dormitories would strength en possibilities that present coeds will continue living on campus.
