Years ago, 11 to be exact, IF Ball
featured the music of the' “Per
sonality Prince with the Southern
drawl,” Tal Henry and his North
Carolinians, billed as a Victor Re
cording Orchestra. What a far cry
to Raymond Scott, his quintet, and
his music in 1942.
Raymond Scott, this year’s band
leader, doesn’t play up individuals,
but stays among the leaders with
his “quintet” and modern arrange
ments.
