Four staff members and six
graduate assists have been added
to the faculty of department of
hdme economics, Miss Laura W.
Drummond, department head, an
nounced yesterday. .
The staff members are Miss Rose
'Cologne, assistant professor of
home economics education; Miss
M. Jane Dearing, instructor of
clothing and textiles; Miss Mary
D. Stockton, assistant in institu
tional administration; and Mrs.
Mary W. Streyffeler, -instructor of
home economics education.
The graduate assistants are Miss
Evelyn M. Benjamin, child devel
opment; ' Miss Carolyn Crawford,
home management; Miss Frances

WSGA To Continue
Open Meetings
Open meetings, begun last
spr:ng to promote interest in wo
men's government, will be con
tinued this year, Jean Babcock '42,
WSGA president has announced.
The idea came from the annual
Intercollegiate Association of Wo
men Students convention which

Included• In Sorority Rushing
Free association with freshman
and transfer women for four
weeks, including "rCshman
has begun women's rushing sea
son this year. During this time
freshmen and transfers may visit
sorority houses and suites. Ou;,-
side associations will be on a
"dutch treat" basis.
The Panhellenic Association
will hold a tea Friday, October 3,
to assist in freshman and trans
fer orientation.
Following the four-week period
and before Thanksgiving, each
sorority will have three • open
houses. Sorority women may not
visit freshmen aid transfers in
their rooms or entertain them in
sorority houses except at designat
ed times of open houses, but out
side associations may be contin
ued.
Freshmen and transfers should
attend as many open houses as
possible for periods not exceeding
30 minutes at each house to be
come acquainted with women
from all sororities.
Two get-togethrrs, attendees by
invitation only, will be held by
each house between Thanksgiving
and Christmas. These dates will
be announced du"•ing November.
Get-togethers will be followed by
limited association until examin
ation week, during which there
will be a strict silent period.
