We, The Women---
How Can Fraternity
Thefts Be Stopped? .
PETTY THIEVERY has created
problems on the campus in the
past, but when $B5O fur coats are
stolen it is time -to take steps to
avoid the repetition .of such acts
in the future. With Soph Hop com
ing up in less than two weeks, any
preventative measures are worthy
of attention.
Carefulness as to where wraps
are put on the part of the women
could avert a recurrence of the un
fortunate robberies of houseparty
weekend.
Fraternities could cooperate by
asking a brother or pledge. to stay
in the rooms where coats are put,
as has been suggested by a member
of the administration.
Reporting of suspicious-looking
outsiders to fraternity presidents
might also be a remedy to the un
precedented wave of robberies.
It is important that no visitor to
our campus go away with any but
pleasant recollections. The cooper
ation of fraternities and women
students can nip the robberies be
fore they blossom into a serious
thorn in the side of big weekends.

Coeds Play Football
To Aid War Relief
Abandoning their knitting to
chase pigskins, coeds at the Uni
versity of South Carolina staged a
touch football game for war relief.
At South Carolina, too, written
permission from home is required
to date soldiers from nearby Fort
Jackson.

Their chief trouble is too many
men and too few women (sounds
familiar).
"Dirty saddle shoes are a dirty
fashion and too much casualness
is sloppy," Schiaperelli warned
Carnegie Tech coeds. She also told
them not to be glamorous but to
be just themselves.
