With the attitude that half a loaf
is better than none, W.S.G.A. accept
ed John KCI111021'S•, proposition to ap
point an honorary member to Senior
Ball. Although the women realize
that their representative will serve
only as a tigurehead, ilhey believe that
this is, preferable to having no mem
ber on the committee at all. If there
are no WOlllOll on Senior Ball this
year, next year's Student Board might
consider it a precedent too sacred to
change.
The fact that Carolyn Tyson was
appointed by Senate instead of the
committee of men, was a step to
wards more inclusive representation.
Acting in an honorary capacity. Car
olyn will not receive a ticket to the
dance because Senior• Board cut the
comp list last year.
To prevent this in the future W. S.
G. A. is considering a plan to contri
bute dues to the dance next year to
entitle the women to proportional re
presentation.
When Panhellenic changed the
weekly rushing allowance to a lump
sum of $2O, to be spent during the
problem of saroities having to serve
bread and butter sandwidhes to rush
ers because they had spent their
weekly budget for a carton of tea.
Freshman customs will soon be en
tirely removed to the relief of about
400 women who have become tired
of wearing name cards.
