Page FoUt WRESTL Pitt, Chicago Lifted From '3B Schedule Ithaca Is Selected For Intercollegiates March 11, 12 Lacrosse Ten 'To Open Akainsi Army April 9 Penn State's eastern intercollegi ate championship wrestling team will be seen at home four times, against formidable opponents, according to the 1938 schedule announced today by by George W. Jarden '3B, manager. At the same time, the varsity .and freshman lacrosse schedules were an nounced by Robert B. Blum '3B, man ager. Pitt 'and Chicago have been replac ed on the grapplers' list by. Harvard and Michigan. The matmen have met Harvard twice before, Winning both times. The same result has come out of the 'tWci previods'ineciings with Michigan. Just as last year, the wrestlers will open against. Princeton, to whom they dropped a. close 'match by • a 13-15 score. This season the meeting will take place here on January: 15. • . Intercollegiates at Ithaca • The wrestling intercollegiates will be held at Ithaca, 'March 11 and 12. Besides the four home matches and the intercollegiates, the Lions will meet Lehigh, Navy, and 'Michigan in away matches. The varsity lacrosse men will meet eight opponents this season, as com pared with nine last. Only three of the games will be played at home. There is one newcomer on the 'sched ule, Lafayette, whom the Blue and White have defeated on three previ ous occasions. ' Army will be here to open the sea son on April 9, and Cornell and Swarthmore will. be the other two home opponents. Bof h s freshman games will be played here. The Schedules Varsity Wrestling:. Meeting last June, the Board ac cepted a proposal to discard the 11- man team and substitute a nine-man team. The action came on the heels of as editorial in the Collegian stress ing the huge number of injuries in curred last fall' in intramural foot ball. When it - convenes today for the first time this semester, the Board is ex pected to adopt the set of rules used by nine-man teams at other institu tions. • Changes Forseen In line with its policy to eliminate body contact as much as possible, the Board is expected to banish , the crouching line and make every'plaYer eligible to receive a forward pass. , Commenting on the situation,. En gen Bischoff, faculty advisor to the Board, stated,they were in favor of anything that would open up the game and make more of a fOrward passing game out of it. ' ' Meanwhile', preparations for the fall intramural season will begin with the close of the fraternity rushing season. Besides football, cross-coun try, horseshoes, and golf putting are on the fall calendar. • Chairman of the Board is David M.
