day that definite approval of the 11-
point Independent platform had been
received from the Independent party
of the class of 1940.

Dr. Harlow Will Give
Chapel Address Sun.
Dr. S. Ralph Harlow, professor of
religion and social ethics at Smith
College, will speak in chapel next
Sunday on the subject, "Living Dead
Men." Doctor Harlow, who has had
a varied career as a minister, mem
ber of the A. If. F., leader in student
work, author, and teacher, is particu
larly well qualified to address college
students.
At a meeting open to faculty and
students at. 7:30 p. m. in 304 Old
Main,. he . discuss the topic,
"Where Do Religion and Sociology
Meet."
Accompanying Doctor Harlow will
be his wife, who has been at Smith
College since 1922.. Mrs. Harlow will
sneak at a women's meeting at 2 p. m.

ence as a settlement worker in New
York, resident on the campus of the
