Tomorrow .
Penn State football fans will get an
'advance showing of their HMG grid

Bob Higgins sends his men into a
practice game with Lock Haven State
Teachers' College on New Beaver field

The game marks the high point of
the most extensive spring football

practicing daily for three weeks, and
Coach Higgins expects to confine:.lH-

A line-up composed of new faces,
for the most part, will take the field

Track Team Shows Improvement
After Workouts During Holidays
Werner Hopes for Repeat Win in 2-Mile Relay
At Penn Carnival; Weightmen Practice.
Despite the bad weather during the
Easter holidays, which handicapped
the work-outs of the squad of fifteen
trackmen who remained here for
practice, Coach "Chick" Werner, at
the present writing, is fairly well
pleased with the form that his charg
es are showing Its they prepare for
their first competition of the season
at the Penn Relays at the end of this
month.
While banking most heavily upon
the championship 2-mile relay team
to score a victory, "Chick" is also
- counting, upcn several other teams
and individuals to capture places. The
wort.• of the weightmen, and of Cap
tain Bill Miller, in particular•, has
shown a lot of improvement. Miller
is now doing around lhO feet consist
ently—which is• the equal of his best
performance last year—and upon cne
occasion he got off :11W-foot throw,
three feet short of the winner's"-dis
tance at the Relays last year.
Hurdlers Show' New Strength
Emmet Brown and lan :Murphy arc
both doing; around 41 feet ln the shot,
while the latter, along with Toni Pri
olo and Common, have been bettering
130 in the discus. While these are not
outstanding marks they are quite
good, when the poor weather condi
tions are taken into consideration.
