EXAMINATION SCHEDULE
Final examinations for the first semester will be held from Monday,.
January 29, to Saturday, February 3, inclusive. The designation SEEI
LIST indicates that the rooms for examinations will be announced or posted ,
by the instructors or departments concerned.
Any student having two examinations scheduled at the same time or three
examinations on the same day is required to report the fact in person at the
office of the Registrar on the special form provided there. Seniors graduating
at mid-year commencement who have examinations scheduled after Wednes-1
day, January 31st, should report that fact on the conflict card in order that'
they may be scheduled for an earlier regular conflict examination, if possible.
To receive adjustments, all conflicts must be reported not later than 5 p.
Friday, January 19th.
Notices of adjustment will lie available at the office of the Registrar for
those students who filed conflict cards and will be mailed heads of depart
ments on Monday, January 22. Appointment examinations should not be
scheduled until after notices of conflict examinations are available. The dates
of the appointment examinations will be announced - by the instructors con
cerned. Examinations will be of two hours' duration;beginningg at 8, 10:20,
and 2 o'clock. .

Dell. '27, Bucchele '35 Place Eighth,
Ninth, Winning 5220 Annuity
For Five Years Each
Robert C. 'Dell '27, Pittsburgh fill
ing station employee, and Andrew C.
Buechele '35 placed eight and ninth,
respectively, each winning $250 a year
for five years, in a prize slogan con
test recently sponsored by the "Amer
' icon Weekly." .
' The contest, which closed on Oc
tober 23, required these competing to
send in coupons from the paper con
taining a description in twelve words
or less of the "American Weekly."
More than.soo,ooo entered the com
petition, each'one submitting four
slogans. There were ten prizes in all,
the first being a $l,OOO annuity policy
for life, which was won with "The
Nation's Reading Habit." Dell's slo
gan was "The Magazine That Truth
Made Famous," while Buechele wrbte
"Concerning Man and His Friend."
According to the latter, he expects
to use the money to help him finish
school this year and next and. to fol
low this with some graduate study.
Dell said that he plans to use his prize
money to pay off his bills.
