Judy Chamberlin, Max Forrest, and Johnny Lima are battling for the full back post. Chamberlin started last week, but it looks certain that Lima will, get the call Saturday. . On the line, Paul King, who start ed games early in the season, has virtually won back his 'position front Joe Burk and should start. Paul Although Pennsylvania is undoubt edly the favorite, we possess more sense than to prophesy an easy vic tory for the Red and Blue. Indica tions point to the closest and hardest fought game of the year. Penn State against Pennsylvania should be equally as difficult as Navy, Dart mouth, and Ohio State—the only teams to defeat the Quakers this year. This is the way Coach Harmon puts it, and we are inclined to agree. CLASSIFIED Miscellaneous BALLROOM DANCING INSTRUCTION -- Individual social dancing inclruction. Call or RI. 'Mary Ratiraban. TIIE PENN STATE COLLEGIAN Letter Box To the Editor We are loyal Penn State students and we believe that there is a good chance of our winning the football game with the University of Pennsyl vania Saturday, but your article en titled "Penn Backfield Coach Predicts Lion Victory" would lead anyone to believe that State will undoubtedly (?) win the game. However, of all the asinine, stupid things to do is to play into Penn's hands by publishing the above story just after Penn State had cleaned Johns Hopkins clock. Perhaps you think that this article will . give the boys confidence, but in reality over confidence would be a normal result. The reason for this is so obvious that even a child could see through it. Despite your , loyalty to Penn State you must admit that from the records of the two Wants for this year, no coach could' make a statement as strong as this one without having some ulterior motive to cause him . to do so. We realize that it is the usual custom for the coach of opponents to submit to their rivals , signed articles to the effect that they have practic ally no chance' of. winning. After reading this beforehand re sume of our coming victory, we must concede that Barnum's adage was most certainly right. —J. L. 'N., T. E. H., L. E. C. As a newspaper, the COLLEGIAN re tains the right to print any decent story if it has news value. Paul Scull's statement was timely and in teresting. If the motive was so "ob vious that even a child could see through it," then there need be no fear of team overconfidence because of it.—Ed. HONORARY TO HOLD MEETING Pi Mu Epsilon, honorary Mathemat ics fraternity, will hold an open meet ing in 101 North Liberal Arts at . 7 o'clock tonight. Ruth Torrence '34 will speak on "Certain Integrals" and John R. Heverly '35 will talk on the "Petrograd Paradox." FOR THROAT PROTECTION-FOR BETTER TASTE . - Henson Speaks on Soviet Recognition (Continued front page one) be settled, and probably is,' by now, the economist said. "Communist propaganda here, the worry of the 'patriotic' societies, is non-existent as far as the Soviet Union is concerned, as the party there definitely decided to delay work towards converting the world to com munism until• the experiment had proven itself in 'Russia," Henson • pointed out. Finally,,the speaker touched on the influence of the move do the foreign policy of the United States, pointing out that until after the World War, the matter of recognition was pot judged upon approval of the. de facto, rule, but merely upon definite proof of its existence. On these standards, the Russian government has deserved recognition for fourteen years, he said. Speaking of the problem of reli-. gious toleration for American citizens in Russia ; which President 'Roosevelt is supposed to •be considering, the speaker pointed out that such :a matter was hardly within the power'S of the government here to control, that it hasn't, and doesn't try to in countries such as Germany, • FREAR HALL TO HOLD DANCE' Residents of Freer. hall will hold their first semester dance • in the Var sity hall lounge Friday, November 24 from 9 until 12 o'clock, according to Adolph L.
