shows the respect that the conquerors
of Army hold for Penn State's boxers,
in spite of compailtive scores which
would seem to gne the Mountaineers
an edge.

With the first day of spring just
seventeen days away, Coach Bob Hig
gins has decided to beat 'Ole Man
Weather' at his own game and begin
spring football drill on New Beaver
field Monday altos noon at 4 o'clock,
provided, of course, State College is
not covered with a blanket of snow
Foi the entire six weeks Higgins
will confine the dulls to fundament
als. Near the end of the spring cam
paign he has planned to have a few
scrimmages. Except for the five-day
recess at Easter, practice, which will
include blocking, charging, coming
out of the line, and handling of the
ball, will continue every clay until the
middle of April
Conover, Hermann To Help
Nor will Higgins be alone in his
r early eft° ts to shape up next fall's
'eleven, for by next Saturday Larry
Conooer will be free from his present
duty, coaching freshman basketball

The purpose of spring training is
to encourage those who have never
been out for varsity football before,:
to show their worth in the coaches'
eyes. All lettermen and holdovers
from this season's squad are expected
to report Monday afternoon.
The varsity rifle team closed its
dual shoulder-to-shoulder match sea
son Wednesday by defeating the Arch
Budge rifle club, 1325-to-1265 Cap
tam Wolcott lead the Lion marksmen
with a score of 275 out of 300.
