`Y' Hut Nears Close
OF 13 Years' Service
After thirteen years of service,
the "Y" hut, green and white relic
of the World War on the Penn
State campus, will give way to the
corps of workmen engaged in the
beautifying program when it is
razed this month. The YMCA
has moNed Into new quarters in
Old Main
Erected during the war, the fa
milial hut added the last touch
needed at that time to create the
impression of Penn State as a mili
tary training camp The hut was
kept in use during the construction
period and served as a rendevous
for idle freshmen.

NEW MARINE DIESEL ENGINE
Duling the summer months, a new
type Diesel engine for use in marine
propulsion was installed in the Col
lege mechanical engineering labor
atory The engine is a four-cylinder
motor, of fifty horse power capacity.
This new machine will be one of the
types studied by the seven lieuten
ants from the United States Navy
who began their course here last se-
nester The officers will el
heir study here next June when the)
