WOMEN
WORD TO THE WTSE
"We don't want to sit in Wo
men's Building." wails the co-ed
who lives in that dormitory and
has a date. "We hate to sit in
Women's Building." grumbles
the man. What is wrong with
Women's Building' This ques
tion was discusssed at a recent
house meeting with a view to
finding an answer. May we call
your attention to three outstand
ing points.
The seats in Women's Build
ing can be guaranteed to furnish
.'ood old-fashioned discomfort.
perfectly satisfactory to our l'ur
haa ancestors. perhaps. but not
to this generation. The various
wooden chairs are strong enough
and hard enough: the three an
tique sofas might be advertise
ments for springs by the number
you feel: while the reed furni
ture is constantly squeaking.
Now antiques are all the rage if
they are comfortable or belong
to the Italian style or to the per
iod of Louis XIV or Queen Anne
or some other royalty, but these
have neither comfort nor style
and would be more tilting in an
attic than in the parlor of a
girls' dormitory.
Besides. what kind of enter
tainment can you provide in Wo
men's Building? Even a good
line fails or grows tiresome be
fore the evening is over. The
one vietrola is out of order. Mac
Hall and the cottages at least
provide davenports and music.
Card tables, too. would be a wel
come addition to the furnishings
of Women's Building.
Worse than all else. this dor
mitory seems to be the thorough
fare to• janitors and all kinds of
officials. We object to being
spyed upon and feel that if a
chaperone is necessary a group
of girls is the best possible kind.
No girl will do anything which
looks at all questionable before
her own friends.

Camels are rolled of such choice
tobaccos, are so skilfully blended
that there simply can be no better
cigarette made.
And that stands, regardless of
the price you pay.
If you want the choice of the
world's experienced smokers, the
mellowest mildness that ever came
from a cigarette—
" Have a Camel!"
