Tuesday, November 2, 1926 FOR PENN STATE Any organization is,as strong as the spirit that moves it and the quality of the spirit determ ines the value of the organiza tion. If the spirit is weak and the quality thin how lifeless the society! A little more than it year ago the Town Girls’ Club represented the latter extreme and today the organization has! within-its reach the means and opportunity of becoming a stiong-and serviceful power a mong the women of Penn State. With almost half the girls in college living off the campus the /Town Girls’ organization has be fore it the problem of creating among two hundred women with miscellaneous interests a spirit of comradeship based on the one thing which can unite them all, a mutual love for Penn State. A large factor m making pos sible the accomplishment of this end is the recognition of the needs of the town gills by Wo men’s Student Government in the budget for this year. This recognition means a new spirit of cooperation between town and campus girls; and for the Town Girls’ Club, a dignity it has not enjoyed heietofoie, a new responsibility fo! meeting the needs of a laige group of girls, and finally an oppoitunity to create an enduring Penn State Spirit, an unbiased interest in the well-being of the- College. Our principle caution is one of wisdom in spending such unpre cedented wealth as now fills the town girls’ treasury can make it express, and let her come to love Penn State because she has a Share in it. Tennis Match Delayed ,By Inclement Weather The women’s tennis tournament, like many other outdoor spoils, has been greatly checked this season be cause the weather has been so un settled.
