YEARLING BOOTERS DRILL FOR VARSITY SCRIMMAGE Valuable Material Evidenced in Freshman Squad—Eisenhulh - Coaches New Men More than thirty aspirants for the freshman soccer squad have been practicing daily on the Armoiy dril 1 held for the past two weeks. Al though no regular games have been scheduled for the plebos during the full, J. L Eisenhuth '27, has been running ’-them through booting and passing practices m preparation for scrimmages with the Varsity. During the practice games between two freshman teams several of tin' new men displayed unusuul speed and accuracy in kicking and heading. The real quality of the yearling combi nation was not tested, however, until i met the Varsity in scrimmage. Freshmen Score In the first contest the freshmen held the regulars to four goals, scor ing one themselves. The second meet ing of the plobes and Varsity last Saturday found conditions the same, the former netting one goal against four for the lattei Although the Varsity fonvnid line is weak m its pre-season form, the plcbe backficld showed unusual de fensive powei in scrimmage Among the freshmen displaying the most experience on the field are Al lan and Haivcy, fullbacks, Edgcrton, center-half, and Jones, center for ward. All these booters weie pre pared at Westtovvn Friend’s school, where they staned for the soccer team of that institution.
