Wrestling practice has now been go
ing on for more than a week, and the
results while not phenomenal are quite
good A number of letter men aro
back Among them is D. D Deter .21,ex
'20, who has recently returned to col
lege. Debar was captain-olect of laid
year's team but did not come back to
school. In hie sophomore year. 110 was
the Emulation of the season, winning
his bout in mory meet, Including a
decision over Dovier, of Lehigh. Just
before the Intercollegiates, he suffered
a broken shoulder, but dopsite this fact
entered the meet but was compelled to
default after nine minutes of plucky
wrestling.
The majority of the material out for
thin year's team is green but promising,
and us is the case in Quito a number of
sports, there aro not enough heavy
weights signed up. Coach "Doc"Lewls
appeals especially to upperclassmen over
1110 pounds who aro not out ,foz foot
ball to practice wrestling. More candi
dates in every class are desired There
are sevanty-rive Sophomores out, where
110 are wanted, instead of 121 Fresh
men there ought to be 300 The show

In order that It may be clearly un
derstood that the evening practice will
not interfere with the scholastic work,
a short explanation should be given
A candidate Is expected to coma out
only three nights a week, and theme
evenings are left entirely to his own
choice The practice of staying on the
floor for three or four hours Is dis
couraged, ant Lit Is ads hied that no one
spend , more than ono hour at ono 'even
ing's practice.
