Student Cooperation Necessary. Rules for Christmas to Apply. The usual petitions will be neces sary to leave before the vacation time set by the faculty. Special announcements calling for student cooperation will be made with the hope that the students will respond. At 11:30 Wednesday a special train will leave the Bellefonte central station for Altoona and all points intermittent. If there ate a suffici ent number on this train going to Pittsburg it will be run through making stops at all stations. Otherwise connections will be made with train No. 13 or 15. At 11=35 a train will leave here for Lock Haven, making connec tions with the Buffalo,- flyer. Neither of these trains will stop at Bellefonte, and will be made up of Pennsylvania coaches. At 11:50 the regular noon train will leave for Bellefonte making connections with trains East and West A special train will leave Lemont at l'-30 making stops at Montandon, Northumberland and Lewisburg and will arrive at Harrisburg ahead of train No. 52, the Buffalo flyer, so as to assure good connections with points east of Harrisburg. The regularly scheduled train will leave Lemont at 2=06 which will make the regular stops through to Harrisburg. Party tickets will be sold to all points. Civil War Memorial Plans are being made for the erection of a tablet in memory of the men who left college to fight in the Civil war. Dr. G. G. Pond has taken charge of the work and has met with great success in locating the men who are still living and in finding the official notice of the men who were killed in battle. KAPP, Cashier Departmental Notes Last week the dairy husbandry department broke all past records in supervision of tests for advance registry, Thirty-five supervisors were at work at one time in making official tests. Golonel J. A. Woodward of Howard, who was a college trustee for many years, will lecture at the college on Friday, March 26. Mr. Geise of the class of 1908 spoke on the subject of R. R. location and construction before the senior civil highway, and sani tary engineering students on Satur day, March 20th. The engineering record for March 13 contains a two page article on the "Distribution of Vertical Soil Pressures’’ describing a series of tests which have been going on for the past two years in the engineer ing experiment station of fhe Penn sylvania State college. A com plete report of these tests will be published as Bulletin No. 13 of the engineering experiment station. A previous article on this subject aroused world wide interest as evidenced by the large number of requests fbr copies of Bulletin No. 13 from all parts of the United States and various foreign coun tries.
