"Wupper's" Team Ahead."
There was a commotion in the
staid town of Bellefonte last Sa,ur
day when "Wupper" Gillespi4 of
far famed baseball ability, pitted
his team against the Academy boys.
Glenn, Bowman, Baetz, Caruthers
and MOon, of the Junior team;
Sheldon and Manion of the Sopho
mores; Nelson and the renowned
Gillespie himself completed the re
doubtable "state" organization. It
is to be regretted that rain prevent
ed the completion of the game for
Baetz was in good form, striking
out six men in four innings, and the
visitors hit hard. BOwman's double
scored two runs while ,Manion and
Sheldon hit well too; "Wupper"
did some daring base running also.
Nelson's catch in right field and
:Mason's good stop of a wide, low
throw at first were other features
while Smith's three bagger resulted
in a score for the Academy.
