Forestry Notes.
Since the Easter (vacation began
several Juniors and Sophomores have
seen doing some work for the Penn
sylvania Railroad. The men were
divided into three parties. One par
ty composed of Macfarlane, Good
year, Borden, Harlow and Kuhns
was stationed at Conewago, Pa.
Muse, Craighead, Hero,vood, Coff
man and Sears composed the- party
Which was located at , Kinzer, Pa.,
;Wile Bradbury, Pinner and Shober
(*ere situated at Morrisville, N. J.
I frhe first two parities were engaged
in pruning yellow! ! locust trees and in
planting coniferous seedlings. The
third
,party busied themselves by
packing seedlings for shipment to
the planting grounds.
The fellows oiid such good work
that Mr. Foley}, Assistant Forester
of the P. R. R. l wrote to Prof Fer
guson asking that the fellows be al
lowed to remain for another week.
But this, would have necessitated too
long an absence from college work
and consequently this request could
not be granted.
The Fotestry Department has re
cently received visits from Mr. S. B.
'Elliott, a member of the Pennsylva
' nia State Forestry Commission, and
Mr. John Foley; Assistant Forester
of the Pennsylvania Railroad Co.
Mere is, something that will be
'music-to the true Forester's ear:-The
silary of the Forest Assistant has
fbeen raised from $lOOO per year
#nd expettses to $l2OO per year and
expenses. The , Ranger's salary has
also been increased to $llOO. The
[former is the position obtained by
bur graduates who pass the civil
ervice.

'Twelfth Night." As is uniformly
case in their production, the
