Another of the popular free lec
tures was on the Subject Peking„last
Saturday evening. The speaker, Dr.
Toyokichi Iyenaga, a native Jap
anese, delivered his lecture in re- '
markably clear and good English,
holding his hearers' close attention
at all times. The slides used were
of the same pleasing ' nature that
have characterized the beautiful
series by Col. McCain, bringing out
the beauties of nature iil that far off
eastern city to an extent not realized
by many Occidentals. ..
Taking the city by its i political
sections, the Forbidden City,' the
Imperial City, the Tartar City and
the Chinese City, ?eking was Shown
to, be a most beautiful and attractive

in the Auditorium last Saturday , on
the occasion of Lincoln Day. That
this audience was pleased was
plainly evident by the fiequent ap
plause interrupting the speaker. 'The
