Some: forty , seni rs and juniors
were present at the rst meeting of
the civic club and the interest taken
in the movement seems to assure the
success of the undertakings Tem
porary officeis were elected and
a committee appointed to draw up a--
corPatitution. Prof. , n - Cottrell poi ted li
out many problems in practical
politics that the members
can study first hand and hinted'at
certain vital and , interesting prob
lems of city government that may
be possible subjects for informal
diScussion at filture meetings of the
club. Prominent men in active poli
tics will be asked to address the
club durink the year. Dr Ray ex
pressed his eatification in the in
terest shown and predicted a' bright
future for the organization. All who
are interested in politics . and were
not present last week should
endeavor to be present tonight at
7:30 when the constitution will be
acted upon f and permanent officers
elected. For the preSent, meetings
will be held t'wlce per month.
Cross Country Run:
The cross country run will be
started a few minutes before 2:30
Saturday afterinCon, according to
the largest handicap. The scratch
menl will ;be started at 2:30 sharp.

his - Mark, to be sent off at scheduled
time, loses his plade and handicap.
The course as announced last week,
will be followed. The race can be
well observed ,from the top of the

Last • Thursday evening the
varsity football men were very de
lighfully entertained at the annual
dinrier given by Dr. and Mrs.
parks. - The men all had a most
enjoyable time, and express 1 „ their
deepest gratittide for the interest
