How State Stands.
This is the seventh year of the
L;itercollegiate Debating League of
Pennsylvania and in all there have
been 18 !debates. Of these, State
has won five, Dickinson five,
Swarthmore four and Franklin and
Maishalli four. Of the six cham
pionships al:arded, State, and
F. & M. each have two,
while Dickinson and Swarthmpre
each have one. It can be seen by
this that Friday's debate is an im
portant one.
We are to uphold the affirmative
of the question, as given in another
cohimn, and our speakers are to be
Jose Osuna 'l2, Paul Work 'lO, C.
A. Schnerr 'lO, and George de
/Charms 'l2, alternate. The judges
are President J. R. Flickinger of
Lock Haven State Normal school,
Superintehdent E. 14IcGinnes, of
the public schools of Steelton, and
Prof. Llewellyn Phillips of Bucknell
'University.

Dec. 30. The occasion will be a
dinner at ReisenWeber's, Eighth
avenue and Fifty-Eighth street, and
Dr. William A. Buckhout, senior
protestor in college, will be their
special t guest. All the State under
gradu‘tes spending their vacation
in the neighborhood of New York
will be there, and all fOrmer stu
dents and members of. the instruct
ing staff of the college are being
urged to attend. 'Anyone intending
to be there should notify the treas

The Juniors opened 'the din
