Free Illustrated Lecture on For-
estry.
On Saturday evening. March 13,
Professor H. S. Graves, Director of
the Yale Forest School, will deliver
an illustrated lecture in the Audi-
torium on "How our Government is
Solving its Forest Problems." As
author, teacher, and lecturer, Pro
fessor Graves is one of the leaders
in forestry education in this country.
He has traveled wiael) both in
America and abroad, has studied
the important forest regions in
different parts of the United States,
and has kept in close touch with the
great work that the federal govern
ment is doing.
Children under sixteen years of
age will be excluded unless accom
panied by adults. Doors open at
7:30; lecture at 8.
isDeutscher Verein" Organized.
During the past week the
"Deutscher Verein" held its first
meeting and adopted a constitution
and elected officers as follows:
Karl B. Lohmann, president; W.
B. Nissley, vice-president; W. K.
Graeff, treasurer, and J. G. Detwiler,
secretary. The purpose of the so
ciety is to develop a practical knowl
edge of the German language and
literature, and the greater part of
the meetings will be carried on in
German. All students who have
completed three semester's work in
the language are eligible to member
ship. Meetings will be held on
alternate Friday evenings at seven
o' clock .
William A. Laird, Jr , 'OB, has
been elected by the Chambersburg
council to the position of borough
engineer of that place.
Mr. B. W. Dickson has been ap
pointed Director of Outdoor Ath
letics at Lehigh. He will coach the
baseball and football teams and have
general oversight of the other out
door athletics.
