Bucknell's Registrar Dead.
Bucknell suffered a severe loss last
Thursday when William C. Gretz
inger, who has been registrar of the
University since he was graduated
there in 1889, succumbed to 'Bright's
disease. He was a man of the
highest character, and an untiring
worker for his Alma Mater. Be
cause of Mr. Gretzinger's death the
functions scheduled for the latter
part of Junior week were postponed.
These included the basketball game
with State that was scheduled for
last Saturday night.
Press Club Active.
At a meeting of the press club last
Saturday night a constitution and
by laws were adopted. On Tues
day night of this week another meet
ing was held and the following of
ficers were elected for the ensuing
year: W. L. McCoy 'lO, president;
D. R. Mason 'll, vice president;
K. B. Lohmann 'lO, secretary and
treasurer; W. L. McCoy, K. B.
Lohmann, D. R Mason, H. L,
Bowman, G. E. Sche ick, executive
committee.
Gathering of U. of P. Men.
At the same time that the alumni
association of the University of
Pennsylvania was holding a banquet
in Philadelphia on Washington's
birthday in honor of the President
elect of the United States, the Penn
sylvania men here at State College
were holding a reunion and dinner at
Nittany Inn. Those present were
Dr. Meyer, and Messrs. Logo, Gold
smith, Niederhouser, Freas, Roberts
and Dye.
The new instructors who are help
ing in the second semester's work in
the chemistry department are R. S.
Prichard, a graduate of Colgate,
Raymond Freas of the University
of Pennsylvania. and A. E. Roberts
from Swarthmore.
