    Basketball News.
Tomorrow our basketball five will
play Wyoming Seminary in the first
of six home games that should
prove the best series that ever took
place on the Armory floor. Buck
nell, Allegheny, F. & M., the Pitts
burg Collegians and Swarthmore in
the order named are the other fives
whibh will "meet the white and blue
here after the Wyoming aggrega
tion appears on Friday night.
With Captain Funston out of the
game and several other players in a
crippled condition our team lost
three games on its first eastern
journey. The University of Penn
sylvania triumphed 30 to 23 on Dec.
15th at Philadelphia, Georgetown
won from Captain Funston's five 42
to 26 one night later and the Har
risburg Athletic Club returned the
compliment handed it on our own
floor earlier in the season by win
ning 28 to 26 over the white and
blue on Dec. 17th at the Capitol
City. With a record of winning
only one of the first four games
played, manager Lindemuth's team,
is now determined to finish the sea
son strongly in true State fashion
and interesting developments can be
expected in the approaching games.
Dr. McAllister Here.
The electrical department is for
tunate in securing for this week Dr.
A S. McAlliSter, of New York, as
sociate editor of the Electrical
World. He is lecturing • each day
before the seniors and juniors of the
dipar . m :nt .
Dr. McAllister, a member of the
State class of '9B, has become
weir knolri as a writer and lecturer
on , engineering subjects. Three
years after graduation here he re
ceived the- - degree of E. E. and
about the same time the degree of
M. E. at Cornell. where he taught
for four years. Since 1905 he has
been with the Electrical World.
He..has made a „number of inven-

tions in electrical machinery, and is
the author of the text book on "Al
ternating Current Motors" which is
used here. He is a member of a
number of engineering societies.
"Tommy" Fennell Secures Good
Appointment.
The many friends of Coach Thomas
F. Fennell will be pleased to learn
that he has been chosen deputy
secretary of state for the state of
New York, with headquarters in
Albany. The position is a good
one, and the new deputy is to be
congratulated on securing it.
